What makes hotel guests feel special?

It is important that you and your hotel staff pay attention to the following points to make your guests feel special. Your hotel culture should be one where the needs of your guests are always given high priority. Make them feel that you like them and highly value their happiness.

Tips for Hotels to Make Their Guests Happy

 1. Remember the names of your guests

This is quite a challenge for large hotel chains, but should be feasible for smaller hotels. Try to remember the names of your guests and make it easier to identify the guests. Make notes in your reservation system. Wait for their surprised faces when you can call them anonymously. They will feel special. Even if you can’t remember the names of everyone, the trick is to bring a personal touch in your interaction and conversations with the guests, giving them importance and showing you care for them.

2. Memorable experiences

Most people travel to have fun and have a memorable experience. Make sure you provide a comfortable, hassle-free and memorable hotel stay for your guests so that they can enjoy their vacation and take back with them happy memories. When they remember the vacation they would also remember your hotel and subconsciously associate your hotel with their happy memories. So next time they come back to the same city they are likely to stay at your place. They may also recommend your hotel to their friends as they have good memories associated with the hotel.

3. Find and offer amenities that customers want

The key to offering facilities is their perceived value in the eyes of your guests. If you do not currently offer many free services, try researching what your guests want. When guests check in, they may have questions, such as whether your hotel has breakfast or whether free Wi-Fi is available. These charges are usually standard in many hotels, regardless of the discounted rates.

After finding out what most of the guests want, try to include the amenities that most people are looking for. This can set apart your hotel from others and increase your perceived value.

4. Offer complimentary stuff

Give your hotel guests some complimentary things in order to delight them. You can go one step further than your competition by giving unexpected complimentary stuff to your guests every now and then. Give a cold drink (or a hot drink in a cold climate) when they arrive. This will set the stage. Now you can give them more complimentary things during their stay, until they leave your place.

Most hotels offer complimentary toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner. However you can make your guests feel special by providing luxury  toiletries. This can raise the level of your hotel in the sight of your guests as you are providing them something better than the norm.

5. Assess the needs of your guests

Do you know your guests’ travel plans? They may be planning a long hike, so leave a trail mix package for each guest in the room you are expecting. These things can have an unbelievably incredible impact on the guests.
