Powerful Twitter Marketing Tips for Hotels – Part IV

This is the fourth part in the series we have been publishing on this blog related to Twitter marketing for hotels.  You can check out the earlier posts in this series here – Twitter Marketing for Hotels

  1. Use Twitter Moments

Twitter Moments is a collection of tweets about a specific topic. For example, the moments section of Twitter includes Today, News, Entertainment etc

  1. Don’t use too many hashtags

Hashtags can be a helpful tool for getting more views (discussing specific topics), but using them too much can make it harder for people to read your tweets.

It can be best to keep the number of hashtags to around 2-4 per tweet. You may add more than 4 occasionally but try to stay within that limit in order to maximize the reach and engagement of your tweets. Research and find the most relevant tags for your business and use them moderately.

  1. Automatically share YouTube videos on Twitter

If you have a growing YouTube channel, manually or automatically share new videos on Twitter to get more views, users and comments on your videos.

  1. Get Confirmation on Twitter

Depending on the size of your company and your industry, you can choose to apply for verification of your Twitter profile.

Twitter says it usually only accepts account verification requests if you are in music, acting, fashion, government, politics, religion, journalism, media, sports, business and other important areas of interest.

If Twitter accepts your request and verifies your profile, it will display a blue badge with your handle inside. This is a symbol of an authentic account.

  1. Make it easy for people to find you

Make sure company or brand name is correct, you have a clear image that is identifiable, a bio that describes your work, etc., so people can easily find and follow you. Your profile should be attractive and stand out.

  1. Don’t spam

Add value to the platform, engage with your audience, post relevant stuff including pics, videos, ideas, positive quotes, news, etc. You can also follow other relevant profiles and contact people wherever required. However keep in mind that you should not use spamming or aggressive methods as that can put off lot of people and can also spoil your brand impression.

  1. Monitor your brand mentions

You can make use of tools like HootSuite to set up monitoring for keywords or brand mentions relating to your hotel. By vigilant monitoring you can know of all the good and bad things being said about your business on Twitter,  then you can respond and engage accordingly.
