7 Fabulous Tourist Attractions of Peurto Rico

As a tropical Caribbean travel destination, Puerto Rico has it all – beautiful palm-fringed beaches, calm warm waters enveloping the golden sandy beaches, the sight of giant waves and famous surfers, and much more…

Puerto Rico is a complex island with Spanish Caribbean culture with a clear American twist to it. It is especially visible around San Juan, with its American Chinese restaurants and other amenities associated with mainland America. Looking further, you will find prominent cities, small villages, beautiful islands, caves and an invasive mountain interior.

  1. Vieques: An island of unparalleled beauty

Wax Island has some of the best beaches in the Caribbean, as well as the stellar Wax National Wildlife Refuge. Semi-wild horses roam the island’s black sand beaches, and sea turtles build nests on the Wax coast. Also, just eight miles from the main island, you will find easy ferry ride or flight.

  1. Old San Juan: A colorful and deep historical neighborhood

One of our Puerto Rican locals wrote: “This charming old part of town is a great place to explore buildings restored from the 16th and 17th century Spanish colonial era. Enjoying the ancient and colorful area. History, culture and personality. ”

It sums it up very well! We love the color of old San Juan (the streets are paved with unique blue stones) and the area is full of restaurants and outdoor cafes.

  1. Castillo San Philip del Moro

El Moro was initially fortified in 1539 and was completed in 1589. Its 18-foot-long wall, 140 feet above sea level, proved to be a strong defense. It was attacked only once, in 1538, by the Earl of Cumberland’s forces. The castle is a maze of tunnels, mansions, barracks, checkpoints and ramps. Many restorations and expansions have contributed to the dominant structure that exists today. The area was designated a National Historic Site in February 1949 on 74 acres.

  1. Playa Flamenco: The Last Beach Paradise

About 17 miles from Puerto Rico, Playa Flamenco is a paradise of white sand, clear blue water and extraordinary snorkeling. It is definitely one of the top beaches in Puerto Rico – and has always been considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

The locals tell us that it is easy to go to Plei Flaminco. You can either hop on the ferry or book a flight.

  1. Rio Cameo Cave Park: An Unreal Natural Wonder

The Rio Cameo Caves, the world’s third largest cave network, are a glimpse into the hidden world. Ten-story high caves, fountains, lush cliffs, and millions of golden bats are just a few of the incredible things you’ll find in caves. Best of all, the cave system is only an hour and twenty minutes away from San Juan and is accessible to travelers of all ages.

  1. Museo de Arte de Ponce

Puerto Rican and other Latin American artists have worked at the Ponce Museum of Art. The Western Hemisphere has the most important Raphaelite collection ever before, which includes fragments of a respectable representation of European artists such as Van Deck, Robbins, Roden, Delecroix and Guinness Borough. The building was designed by Edward Doral Stone (Museum of Modern Art, New York).

  1. Rincon: The ultimate surf town

Rincon is a beautiful beach town with a lot of work to do. It is said to have the best surfing in the Caribbean (if not the world), and every summer the royal humpback whale moves only to the beach. Also, the sunsets are amazing.
