Union City is a city in Fulton Country of Georgia, USA. It is located just over 9 miles southwest of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. It is known for quiet neighborhoods and the close proximity to big city attractions like Atlanta. Let us check out some of the star attractions of this lovely city.

1. Delta Flight Museum: People coming to Union City by air, are likely to get down at the Atlanta airport which happens to be the busiest airport in the whole world. While most people would obviously want to get out of it as soon as possible, there are some nice sights to see for people who are willing to linger there a little longer.

Towards the north side of the airport you can find 2 historic hangars dating back to the 1940s. These hangars are the location for the present day Delta Flight Museum wherein you can find vintage posters and huge range of mementos. You can also find a 767 Boeing aircraft which is called ‘Spirit of Delta’ as it was the Delta Airlines flagship aircraft for many decades.

2. Cochran Mill Park: Located on the banks of Chattahoochee River, Cochran Mill Park is spread over 32 hectares of woodland. This is a place of attraction for hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, horse riders and all nature lovers.

3. Farmers Market: This a great place to stop by to purchase wide range of fruits, vegetables and other interesting items like artisan soaps, handcrafted jewelry, etc. The market is created by the city council to provide ann outlet for small scale farmers to sell their produce directly to the local population.

4. SkyView Atlanta: Do not miss the stunning panoramas offered by SkyView Atlanta. Situated on the edge of Cenntennial Olympic Park, the Ferris wheel’s top height is equivalent to that of a 20 storey building. The views from the top are enthralling at any time of the day, bu specially during the night time when the city is full of lights.

5. Hampton-Beecher Nature Preserve: You can find here an excellent range of hiking trails and also numerous ditches dug by the Unionist troops during the civil war battles. You can also enjoy attractive streams and forrested hills.

6. Six Flags Over Georgia: This is a premier theme park which is located towards the west of downtown Atlanta. The park has an area of 120 hectares. The park has dozens of activities and attractions for people of different ages. Visitors can enjoy the super popular Hurricane Harbor water park spread over 3 hectares with twisting rollercoaster tracks all around.

7. Zoo Atlanta: Zoo Atlanta is an Association of Zoos and Aquariums accredited zoological park in Atlanta. Here you can find lots of different plants and animals from all over the world. The tour around the zoo is long but worth every minute. Zoo Atlanta is one of only four zoos in the U.S. housing giant pandas. Another amazing thing you can find here is the presence of many glass-free, naturalistic enclosures.
