Common Drying Mistakes Done While Doing Laundry – Housekeeping Staff

Clothing is always valuable. Regardless matter how much the item costs. We constantly want someone to take care of our property. Guests’ clothes can be quite important in some instances. In certain situations, they may be one-of-a-kind couture items. The way they are handled and cleaned is critical. A mistake can be disastrous and difficult to correct.

We’ve all heard horror stories about cashmere sweaters being washed in the washing machine. Or silk gowns drying in the dryer. The housekeeper bears the most responsibility for the garments under their care. The way they tackle the laundry is a crucial and necessary expertise.

Here are some mistakes are done while drying the laundry by the housekeeping staff:

  • Drying Laundry For Excessive Time:

Over drying not only wastes energy and manufacturing time but also causes friction, which wears materials out faster.

  • Not Following The Manual’s Instructions:

For Cleaning the Dryer follow the instructions given by the manufacturer. Many people neglect the maintenance of the drying machine.

  • Taking Too-Much Time To Load & Unload:

In addition to losing time, this causes the dryer’s cylinder to cool between loads, causing the dryer to work harder to raise the temperature back up for the next batch.

  • Too Much Heat At The End Of Drying:

The most efficient method of drying clothing is to apply the maximum heat to it at the start of each cycle. Heat should be kept to a minimum after the process when the items are most vulnerable to harm. Dryers with microprocessors can easily achieve this.

  • Fault In Dryer’s Seal:

The state of a dryer’s seal is closely connected to its efficiency because the seal keeps cold air out and hot air inside the basket so it can pass through the clothes. Because they are subjected to the reverse side of the basket’s perforations, most seals wear out rapidly (a cheese-grater effect). A worn-out seal requires the dryer to work harder and for a longer period to dry the products. This problem can be avoided in the new microprocessor dryers.

  • Prolonging Transfer of Laundry To The End Station:

The optimal usage of ironers, for example, is dependent on a certain degree of moisture in the clothes before ironing. Allowing things to sit for an extended period causes them to wrinkle; in certain cases, rewashing is the only solution. Consider implementing a conveyor or other automated method of transfer between dryers and finishing stations, in addition to optimizing scheduling.
