Stress is said to be contagious. When the manager is angry and stressed out, the workers are likely to feel the same way too. If the management can keep a calm demeanour and keep their emotions in check, it can have a positive effect upon the workers.

It is important for managers to learn to keep their emotions under their control and to learn to speak in calm, pleasant and respectful tone with everyone. Learn to smile as a smile can bring down stress levels and soothe the nerves of your tense employees. Successful managers are calm, confident managers!

A Simple & Effective Technique for Managers
If you have the habit of getting angry and fuming at the slightest provocation and find it hard to keep your anger under control, you can try this simple exercise. Pretend that you are an actor who is playing the character of a relaxed, calm manager or boss. If you have a favorite movie character in your mind who fits that picture and whom you want to emulate in real life, go for it!

Keep checking throughout the day how well you are playing that character. If needed, look into the mirror to check your body language and facial expressions. Try to play that character of a calm person to the best of your ability. You may not do a perfect job of it initially but if you keep up with it, you may soon find yourself getting better with practice.
