What To Do If You Don’t Like The Hotel You Arrive At

The hotel that you arrive at may really put you off. It may not at all match with the images you saw online. The hotel may be very unclean with stain covered bedsheets and pillows, grime covered bathroom, cockroaches roaming around the room.

It may seem your whole trip is going to be ruined because of the bad hotel you picked up. In order to avoid getting into such a situation in the first place you should do your due homework while selecting and booking a hotel. Don’t go for the cheapest accommodations as you may regret it later on.

You should also check out the online reviews of any hotel you plan to stay at. Find out what others are saying. Nowadays it has become very easy to find out how good or bad a hotel is. You just need to head over to Google reviews and search for the hotel you want to stay at.

You can also find tons of reviews at other websites like – TripAdvisor, Expedia, Yelp, Booking.com, Hotels.com, Trivago, Oyster, Travelocity, etc. Really there is no excuse for not spending some time in checking out the reviews of a hotel before booking it.

By the way, if you failed to do proper homework earlier and you find yourself at a hotel that is not to your liking, you have a few options. If you had booked through a travel agent then contact that agent to solve the issue for you and arrange an alternative place for you. If its an Airbnb that you had booked, they will offer assistance in finding you a better place or offer you a refund.

Additionally you can just walk up to the manager and express your issue. Ask them to give you a better, cleaner room. If needed, be willing to pay a little extra in order to have a nicer, cleaner room. After all, you don’t want to spoil your trip nor spoil your health. If they don’t oblige to your request you may warn them that you are going to leave a fitting review on all the major social media review sites about the hotel.
