1 – Safety and Security – One of the most important things to look out for while traveling to a new place is to find out how safe and secure that place is. If a place is not safe for tourists, then it can be a good idea to stay away from it. Safety is the most important consideration for any traveler. You are visiting a totally new place, far away from your home and you don’t know anyone there nor do you have any idea about the rules and laws.

So it is imperative that you find out beforehand how safe the place is for tourists before you make final plans of visiting that place. Some places may have high crime rates while some other places may be involved in civil wars, so avoid visiting such locations.

2 – Weather and climate – Another important consideration is the weather and climate of the place you are planning to visit. Some places might be extremely cold while some others may be too hot for your comfort. You should also try to find out the climate at the time of your planned visit – will it be too rainy during the months you are planning to visit. If you visit a location at the wrong time, your whole trip can be spoiled.

5 – Local News – You should also read some local news about that place to make sure everything is alright and peaceful there. You don’t want to visit a location while they are going through some political turmoil, internal strife, work strikes or other disturbances.
